History

Sarah Gustafson

Sarah's career started as a bank teller for about five years after graduating high school. Then she was a homeschool mother for over 27 years. After raising her two children, along with being the COO and equal partner of Gustafson Piano Tuning, LLC with Steve, she is pursuing a degree in Business Management at Baton Rouge Community College. She enjoys running the website and social media for the business in addition to Steve's Event social media page. Also, Sarah likes to work on the mechanical parts of the action, having several happy customers with successful repairs on their pianos in our area.


Steve Gustafson

Steve is the CEO of Gustafson Piano Tuning, LLC and equal partner with Sarah. Steve is also the organist at First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge. Steve has been a piano teacher for over 30 years. After completing a Bachelor of Music degree at Eastern Michigan University in 1988, He taught for awhile, and then completed a Master of Music at Louisiana State University, in 1994. He served as organist/pianist at several local churches from the 1990's to the present, including Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church, Jefferson United Methodist, First Baptist Baton Rouge, The Chapel on the Campus at LSU and currently First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. Additionally, he has taught music at River Parishes Community College, Baton Rouge Community College, the Academy Music Preparatory School at LSU and Baton Rouge Music Studios. He also played piano at many local restaurants such as Mansur's, Sullivan's, Gino's and currently Stab's Prime in Baton Rouge.  For almost 10 years he played keyboards in a wedding band and have also played in pit orchestras for local musical theater productions.  What Steve loves most about teaching piano is inspiring students through the basic foundational elements of music, no matter what genre they may pursue, or paths it may lead them down.
