Sarah began her career as a bank teller five years after high school, then spent 27 years as a homeschool mother. After raising two children, she became a managing partner at Gustafson Piano Tuning, LLC with Steve, and is now pursuing an associate’s degree in business management with a minor in Accounting at Baton Rouge Community College. She manages the business website, handles social media, supports Steve's event page, and enjoys repairing piano mechanisms for satisfied local customers.
Steve is the managing partner of Gustafson Piano Tuning, LLC with over a decade of experience tuning pianos. He also serves as the organist at First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge. He has taught piano for over 30 years. After receiving a Bachelor of Music degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1988, he taught music before earning a Master of Music degree at Louisiana State University in 1994. Since the 1990s, Steve has held organist and pianist positions at various local churches, including Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church, Jefferson United Methodist, First Baptist Baton Rouge, The Chapel on the Campus at LSU, and his current position at First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. His teaching experience includes positions at River Parishes Community College, Baton Rouge Community College, the Academy Music Preparatory School at LSU, and Baton Rouge Music Studios. He has performed piano at several local restaurants such as Mansur's, Sullivan's, Gino's, and currently Stab's Prime in Baton Rouge. For nearly a decade, he played keyboards in a wedding band and has also participated in pit orchestras for local musical theater productions. His approach to teaching emphasizes the foundational elements of music across genres and career paths.
